Multichoice the owner of GOtv and DStv recently announced the increments of their monthly subscription starting on 1st May 2024. In this post, I will be sharing all the old and new prices of GOtv and DStv subscriptions to keep you informed. However, the price increment came as a surprise to Nigerians especially now that Nigerians are passing through hardship.
The corporation released a statement announcing that the new rates will take effect on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
The prices of the following packages have changed: Confam is now N9,300 instead of N7,400; Compact+ is now N25,000 instead of N19,800; Compact is now N15,700 instead of N12,500; and DStv Premium bouquet is now N37,000 instead of N29,500.
Among the changes for GOtv subscribers were the following: Supa+ went from N12,500 to N15,700; Supa went from N7,600 to N9,600; Max went from N5,700 to N7,200; and Jolli went from N3,950 to N4,850.
“We recognise the potential effects this modification may have on you, our esteemed client,” Multichoice stated.
Multichoice stated that it made the decision despite the fact that the cost of conducting business has increased.
The cable TV company went on to say that it is still dedicated to giving its customers the greatest viewing experiences and entertainment available.
Three times in 2023, Multichoice announced price increases for the DStv and GOtv packages; the most recent increase went into effect on November 6.
This occurs as Nigerians are still struggling to cope with the removal of fuel subsidies and rising living expenses that affect the cost of food, transportation, and other necessities.
