The important thing to notice is that these are YouTube-focused bundles. They are not ordinary data plans that can be freely used for every website and app.
MTN’s Social Bundles information states that YouTube Buffet bundles are meant for streaming content on YouTube.

Streaming quality can make a major difference.
Watching at 360p will normally consume far less data than watching at 1080p or 4K.
If you want the 800MB to last longer, reduce the YouTube video quality.

MTN also currently lists a larger 12-hour YouTube Buffet.

Which MTN YouTube Plan Is Better?
The better plan depends on how much you watch.
Choose the ₦250 Plan If:
- You only need YouTube for a few hours
- You want the cheapest dedicated option
- 800MB is enough for your viewing
- You mostly watch at lower or medium quality
- You need the plan for one day
Choose the ₦600 Plan If:
- You watch YouTube more heavily

Do I Need MTN Pulse for the YouTube Buffet?
MTN’s general Social Bundle information states that all MTN customers are eligible for the Social Bundle offer.

Can I Share MTN YouTube Data?

Your main data bundle may be transferable, but the special YouTube allowance is restricted.

Do not assume that because your main bundle is shareable, every bonus attached to it can also be transferred.
Can I Roll Over MTN YouTube Data?
MTN states that unused YouTube Night/Day data does not roll over.

What Happens When MTN YouTube Data Finishes?
For YouTube Night/Day allowances attached to regular plans, MTN says that once the special YouTube data is exhausted, continued YouTube streaming will be charged from your main data bundle or another available bundle.
This is important.

If you want to protect your main data, check your balance before a long streaming session.

How to Make MTN YouTube Data Last Longer
Video quality is one of the biggest factors affecting data use.
To reduce consumption inside YouTube:
- Open the YouTube app.
- Tap your profile picture.
- Open Settings.
- Select Video quality preferences.
- Choose a lower mobile-network quality option.
You can also manually lower the quality of individual videos.
For a small bundle, 360p or 480p will normally last longer than 1080p or 4K.
Other useful steps include:
- Turn off autoplay when you are not actively watching
- Avoid downloading large videos unless necessary
- Stop background playback if you are not listening
- Disconnect hotspot users
- Pause app and cloud updates before streaming
- Monitor the bundle balance regularly
Fast 4G and 5G connections can make YouTube automatically deliver higher-quality video, which can consume the bundle faster.
Is the MTN YouTube Plan Worth It?
It can be worth it if YouTube makes up most of your mobile data usage.
The ₦250 option is attractive for a short viewing session because you do not need to buy a much larger general-purpose bundle.
The ₦600 option is more appropriate if you want a longer streaming period and larger allowance.
